Pranayama.

Breath control is an essential component of yoga practice and is considered the next step after mastering asana. In fact, it is the fourth stage in the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga philosophy.

Pranayama, or breath control, is used by yogis to regulate their prana, the vital energy or life-force energy that flows through us and everything around us. The word "prana" also means breath, and by controlling our breath, we can alter the flow and qualities of our energetic body.

Modern practitioners of yoga use pranayama for its numerous health benefits. By altering your breath, you can change your state of mind and promote physical and emotional well-being.

Take a moment to notice your breath right now. Close your eyes, and slow down. Through pranayama and other breathing techniques, you can learn to control and regulate your breath, ultimately leading to a greater sense of peace and presence in your everyday life.
